In a frightening incident captured on police bodycam footage, a woman shared her ordeal with Miami Beach officers after being attacked at a lifeguard stand. She was alone on the beach when, according to her account, a man suddenly grabbed her face, causing a bloody nose, and ordered her to stay silent.

Recalling the traumatic evening on August 30, the victim described how what began as a peaceful moment turned into a shocking assault. She recounted, “He just came out of nowhere and grabbed me from behind.” The attack occurred near the 43rd Street lifeguard stand around 8 p.m.

Exclusive footage from the Miami Beach Police captured her conversation with responding officers. The victim said her attacker repeatedly insisted, “It’s just sex. Shut up, don’t say nothing.” Fighting back with all her strength, she managed to resist, and shouts from witnesses caused the attacker to flee before authorities arrived.

Police identified the suspect as 37-year-old Randi Alexander Dawson, who was later arrested. This incident came just weeks after another serious attack on July 16, when a rollerblader was assaulted at the 23rd Street Beachwalk. Thanks to public exposure and surveillance footage, that assailant, a registered sex offender named Keith Hill Jr., was apprehended.

Reflecting on her experience, the victim described biting the attacker’s hand and resisting his demands while yelling for help. “I was really fighting it,” she said.

During the encounter with law enforcement, one officer offered her empathy and support. Upon learning she was visiting with her daughter, the officer expressed deep sympathy for her experience.

The victim sustained minor injuries, and Dawson remains in custody facing a battery charge while awaiting trial.
