This story serves as a reminder of the critical need for self-protection skills and the courage to act in dangerous situations.

Just before the fall semester began at Carnegie Mellon University, a student faced a terrifying situation when a naked man broke into her off-campus apartment, as reported by Pennsylvania police.

The incident, now under investigation by the Pittsburgh Police Department, took place on the night of Tuesday, August 20, in an apartment near the university.

The student was resting on her bed around 10 p.m. when she noticed the intruder—a naked man—standing in her room, according to statements from both Pittsburgh police and campus law enforcement.

Armed with a small knife, the man reportedly warned the student to stay quiet and assured her that he wouldn’t harm her if she complied.

However, when the intruder attempted to sexually assault the student, she bravely fought back and managed to escape to a bathroom, where she locked the door and called 911.

Authorities said the man fled the scene and, as of August 22, had not been apprehended.

Fortunately, the student did not sustain any physical injuries. She described the suspect as a heavyset man with short dark hair, appearing to be around 30 years old.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact the Pittsburgh police at 412-422-6520.
